Cold & Flu Season 2019-2020

It’s that time of year again...the weather’s cooling off, the leaves are changing, and germs are in the air.  Here are a few reminders to help protect you and your family against the flu this year.

1. Wash your hands. 2. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. 3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread this way. 4. Stay home if you are sick. 5. Get your flu shot.

Prairie Creek Elementary follows the exclusion recommendations set forth by the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment.  Please remember before sending your child to school that they have to be: 1. Fever-free for 24 hours without the aid of medication. 2. Diarrhea-free for 24 hours without the aid of medication. 3. No vomiting for 24 hours. 4. If diagnosed with the flu, your child will be excluded from school for 5 days following ONSET of illness or if fever persists for more than 5 days, continue exclusion until 24 hours fever free.

Please follow these guidelines to help keep our students and staff healthy.
